Quantcast Kidspace | Downing

Development capital

Kidspace is an established and profitable children’s play business with two high-quality sites in Croydon and Romford. In 2012, our funding was used to acquire the company’s third site, a 40-acre children’s farm in Epsom that was redeveloped and relaunched as Hobbledown, a magic-themed day visitor attraction.

Hobbledown boasts both indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as a wide variety of exhibited animals – from meerkats to kangaroos. The park has featured on an episode of popular CBBC programme, The Dare Devil, and has won a number of awards, including the 2015 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, and was named in the Day Out With Kids Top 10 UK Attractions 2014.

Operated by an experienced and proven management team, Hobbledown performed beyond expectations while the two established sites continued to perform well. In October 2016, we completed a successful exit from the investment following a bank refinance.
