Care Concern Group
Founded in 1991, Care Concern Group is a leading player in the elderly residential care market. Together we have invested in 20 sites across the UK. Care Concern focuses on high-quality care provision in market-leading homes. Initially bank financed, the team chose to partner with Downing to accelerate growth and build the business's central function and infrastructure. The group is now considered a leading mid-market operator and operates homes across England, Scotland and Wales.
Downing worked with a highly-experienced management team with an excellent track record to establish a leading specialist education platform in the UK. A proprietary deal, sourced from our network. The team have an initial geographic focus on the South-West and is growing at a significant pace. Spaghetti Bridge now has two schools and is progressing further expansion opportunities.
Manor Grange Care Home
In 2014, Downing invested in the construct an 83-bed, quality care home in Edinburgh following the acquisition of the land. It traded at an 87% occupation with fees of >£1.1K a week at exit. The property was acquired in 2018 by an institutional property investor.
