Chris Allner

Chris has 30 years of venture capital and private equity experience, most recently as Head of Private Equity at Octopus Investments. Prior to this, he was a Director at Beringea and Bridgepoint with previous experience also at 3i and Charterhouse. Chris has transacted over 50 investments and has sat on the boards of a number of unquoted and quoted portfolio companies. Chris joined Downing as a partner in March 2012.

Paul Beaumont

Paul worked for NatWest from 1983 until joining Downing in September 2007. During his time with the bank he led on several leveraged transactions, often working alongside various VCTs and PE houses. During his time at Downing he has transacted many VCT, EIS and IHT deals across a wide number of sectors, he sits on the Boards of several investee companies. He is MBA and IMC qualified.

Jonathan Boss

After qualifying as a chartered accountant Jonathan has spent time working in corporate development for a public company, giving corporate finance advice and investing in and managing private equity investments for 10 years at 3i, before joining Downing in 2008. Jonathan is a partner in Downing LLP.

Michael qualified as a chartered accountant in 2001 and spent seven years at Close Investments Limited where he was a director within the property and tax division. He joined Downing in May 2009.

Steven Kenee

Steven Kenee qualified as a chartered accountant in 2004 with Baker Tilly, where he worked for over six years in corporate finance, corporate restructuring and audit with a specific focus on small and medium sized businesses. He joined Downing in January 2008.

Tom Phillips

Tom Phillips

Tom has been with Downing since the start of 2011, having previously held the position of Associate Director at Lloyds Banking Group. During his 5 years at Lloyds, Tom worked in retail banking and corporate credit roles, before joining the Bank's restructuring department in 2008. In Lloyds' ‘Business Support Unit', Tom was responsible for structuring the Bank's equity holding in Debt for Equity swap transactions across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, hotels and retail.

Nick Stinton

Nick spent five years in smaller company corporate finance with Beeson Gregory and then ABN AMRO before moving into VCT investment with Quester in 2000. Nick holds an MBA from INSEAD and joined Downing in 2010.
