Downing AIM IHT Portfolio Service
Introduction
The Downing AIM IHT Portfolio Service provides investors with the opportunity to obtain full IHT relief after only two years by owning a portfolio of AIM quoted shares.
Downing's strategy should enable Investors to maintain control of their assets (no need for trusts or to gift assets to obtain IHT relief) and to withdraw funds from their Portfolio at any time, subject to liquidity.
Subscribers should note that these are targets and are not guaranteed.
How to apply
In order to invest please read the Information Memorandum and then complete the Application Form and return it to Downing:
Key points
- IHT relief: to provide Investors with the opportunity to obtain 100% relief from IHT after two years on the value of their Portfolio.
- Ownership & control: to allow Investors to retain full ownership of the investments (no need for trusts or to gift assets to obtain IHT relief).
- Capital growth: companies will be selected after thorough analysis of the operational business, longevity of earnings and where management is aligned with equity shareholders. In addition, risk should be reduced by spreading the amount invested across at least 20 companies in several different sectors.
- Downside protection insurance: an annual Insurance Policy has been arranged with Lloyd's of London, which should cover the first 20% of any loss to Investors aged less than 85 at the date of death. The policy should cover the first 20% of loss of the amount invested, less the initial charge of 5.5%, and less any subsequent redemptions. See page 14 for further details and exclusions.
- Access: to enable Investors to withdraw capital from their Portfolio at any time, subject to liquidity.
Note: This represents a very condensed summary of the key points of the Downing AIM IHT Portfolio Service and should be read in conjunction with the full text of this Memorandum. Applicants should note that the Service's objectives are not guaranteed.
